Jim Craft

Jim Craft is an Owner of Orangeburg Security Systems. His position is Sales and Office Operations Management. Jim has been in the industry since 1987 when he started as a salesman for National Guardian. When National Guardian was purchased by another company he, along with 4 other National Guardian employees opened Orangeburg Security Systems in 1998.

Jim is a graduate of OCTech and has an associate’s degree in business. Jim is the immediate past president of The South Carolina Alarm Association. He lives in Orangeburg with his wife Rose Marie and two daughters, Dorsey and Lainee. Rose Marie is a 1980 graduate of Clemson University, and is a guidance counselor at a local high school.

Dorsey is 19 and currently is a sophomore at Clemson University. Lainee is 16 and is a 10th grader at Orangeburg Prep Schools.

Melvin Ball

Melvin Ball has the most alarm installation and service experience of any of the owners. He started in the industry in 1973 as an installer and has been the service manager of Orangeburg Security since our beginning.

Melvin was born in Florence SC in 1949 and moved with his family to Elloree in 1954. He graduated from Elloree High School in 1966 and joined the United States Navy. He served in the Navy for four years spending 2 of which in Vietnam. Melvin was married to his wife, Phyllis, in 1971 and has 4 children.

Having Melvin as service manager of Orangeburg Security is invaluable to our company and our customers. Along with being well versed with all modern technology he is uniquely qualified in a wide variety of security equipment of all vintages. We have gained many customers who having been frustrated with the inability of other companies to properly service their systems have turned to us and Melvin’s friendly and knowledgeable care.

Jim Whisenhunt

Jim Whisenhunt graduated from Edisto High School in 1978. He joined Home Safety as an installer in 1979. He was also employed by National Guardian, Security Link of Ameritech and Holmes Protection.

After spending 19 years in the security business, Jim along with four partners established Orangeburg Security Systems, Inc.

He is a qualifying agent in the state of South Carolina to install security and fire alarm systems. He currently supervises the installation division and maintains an inventory of supplies.

He married Mickey Milhouse in July 1990. They have three children – Scott, Jamie and David. They reside in Orangeburg. In his spare time he enjoys fishing and camping with his family.

Dale Kittrell

Dale Kittrell is the Office Manager of our company. She was born in Bamberg County and raised in Cope. Dale attended grades 1st through 12th in Orangeburg County schools. She also attended vocational school in Cope with studies in office occupation.

Dale was married to Roger in 1973 and the couple has one "child" Gizzy Gizmo Orangeburg County’s most spoiled Shih-Tzu!

Dale started her career in the alarm industry in 1981 with Home Safety Equipment Co. and stayed with them after they were bought by National Guardian and then Securitylink from Ameritech. After a brief respite from the alarm industry she started with us in September 2002. Dale oversees all daily office operations.

Dale’s experience and fantastic work ethic has been a wonderful benefit to our operation and assures our customers of the highest quality attention to their individual needs.
